When I began pursuing the life of an artist, actually working on my art and improving and such, and actually taking it more seriously, I started to take as many art classes as I could throughout Middle and High school. It was probably the best thing I could have done for myself, since no matter how many times I’ve moved around in my life, it was the only thing I realized was constant. I also took interests in several other things, such as cosplaying and roleplaying. I don’t even know where I went wrong.

You sound like you enjoy doing concept art more than illustrating. There’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, that is what concept artists do - create concepts.
However, if you actually want to take up art as a career, you need to know that more often than not you’ll be doing art for other people. If you can’t focus on doing art for others instead of yourself, you need to take the time to get used to it.
